Hello! First of all, thank you very much for your comments on my last post. It's always a pleasure to read your thoughts! If only Blogger could allow me to answer you individually and directly!
Today's finished object is a simple lacy scarf I knitted for a very nice person:
Yarn: Plassard, Alpaga (Black), 1.8 skeins. Bought at Le Comptoir, Paris.
Needle: Addi Turbo Circular 3.75mm and 4.5mm for cast-on and bind-off
Sequins: Probably bought at Le Comptoir, but it was long ago and I can't remember.
Mods: Slipped every first stitch, knit wise on RS, and purlwise on WS. Replaced the SKPO by SSK to mirror the K2tog.
Why oh why do people always ask me to knit in black for them???
And you? Dear Reader, do you enjoy knitting in black?
EDIT 25/07/2011, 10:17.
This Alpaca yarn is the only pure alpaca I have ever tried. I love it! It's very soft and has a beautiful drape. It's beautiful when crocheted (I made a granny blanket with it), however, when knitted, the stitches are a bit uneven. I never used it for a sweater, but I'm planning to do so very soon. Plassard Alpaga come in lots of very beautiful shades, you can see the color palette here.

elle est très jolie...en noir ;-) ça met bien les superbes sequins en valeur je trouve :-)
RépondreSupprimerpar contre je n'ai jamais tricoté de noir :-) je n'aime pas tricoter en trop foncé ;-)
That looks gorgeous! And I agree, knitting in black is not for the faint hearted, although I find it helps to use powder grey needles rather than my normal rosewood ones. And the yarn, I don't know it ... please can you tell us what you thought of it, I am always on the lookout for nice fine alpaca yarns :)
RépondreSupprimerI don't knit black, as a rule. Actually, I wrote a whole rant / manifesto about it once... :) http://fridica.wordpress.com/2010/04/09/the-tyranny-of-black-2/
RépondreSupprimerYou are so right, I can't count the times someone has seen one of my knitted items and said, "oh I would love one like that....in black..."
RépondreSupprimerKnit on, friend!
