Drew Drops Shawl Part 2/2: Enjoying

Pattern: Drew Drops Shawl by Bex Hopkins

Yarn: Holst Garn, Supersoft 100% Uld, (Plum), 671.0 yards (613.6m)
          Bought at Le Comptoir, Paris

Needles: Addi Turbo Lace, 4.5mm

Dimensions: 200cm x 86 cm

Mods: I usually prefer the "increase-4-on-every-other-row" construction, but this one has increases on every rows (same construction as the Ishbel). As I don't like to yo between a knit and a purl stitch, instead of [K3, yo] for the edging, I did [K2, yo, K1] at beginning of each row, and [K1, yo, K2] at the end.

Comments: This shawl looks simple, but I found it difficult and messed up so often that I had to use a lifeline. Please note that it wasn't the pattern's fault but only mine, as knitting lace when you are tired is not a good idea at all! The pattern was perfectly written and I'm very happy with the result.

About Hoslt Garn, Supersoft 100% Uld: I love love love this yarn. It smells oddly, is sticky, feels a bit like cotton while knitting, but the colors are wonderful! The yarn really blooms and softens a lot after washing! This Plum colorway is slightly tweeded, and matches perfectly my favorite Repetto Ballerina's!

Drew Drops Shawl Part 1/2: Blocking

After the last very busy days, I finally found the time to wash and block my finished shawl!

First, run a bath for the baby....

Let the shawl contemplate the bath before the dive

Wash it gently, and let it to soak....Then rinse thoroughly....

At the same time, prepare the blocking tiles, pins and wires.

With the mouth bristling with pins, begin the blocking process until the baby looks like a voodoo doll!

To be continued!
