First Pattern v.2.0
Since last year, I'm working on a sweater-pattern of my own. I love buttons, love short sleeves sweaters, love working from the top down. Dear Readers, I humbly submit my very first improvisation.
A very simple sweater, worked from the top down.....
With a simple garter stitch edgings...
The charming buttons...
You can choose whatever buttons you love because the buttonholes are crocheted....
Pattern: My own
Yarn: Cascade 220, 2.56 skeins (Navy Blue), bought at Lil Weasel, Paris.
Needles & Crochet: Addi Turbo Circulars, 4.5mm, 60cm & 40cm; Clover Soft Touch, 4mm & 4.5mm
Size: Custom
Buttons: Le Comptoir, Paris.
Ravelry Project Page: here
This is the final version. It may become a pattern available for free, but I'm still thinking about it. What do you think about this idea? About this sweater? Any volunteer for test knitting? Tech editing?

Buttons
A few months ago, I came across this video by Eunny Jang. Before, placing buttons on a garment was long, tedious, and hazardous. With this tip, the button "episode" is accurate and avoid endless calculations!
More about this new sweater very soon!
Wish you a lovely knitting day!

L'Echarpe Dentelle
Hello! First of all, thank you very much for your comments on my last post. It's always a pleasure to read your thoughts! If only Blogger could allow me to answer you individually and directly!
Today's finished object is a simple lacy scarf I knitted for a very nice person:
Yarn: Plassard, Alpaga (Black), 1.8 skeins. Bought at Le Comptoir, Paris.
Needle: Addi Turbo Circular 3.75mm and 4.5mm for cast-on and bind-off
Sequins: Probably bought at Le Comptoir, but it was long ago and I can't remember.
Mods: Slipped every first stitch, knit wise on RS, and purlwise on WS. Replaced the SKPO by SSK to mirror the K2tog.
Why oh why do people always ask me to knit in black for them???
And you? Dear Reader, do you enjoy knitting in black?
EDIT 25/07/2011, 10:17.
This Alpaca yarn is the only pure alpaca I have ever tried. I love it! It's very soft and has a beautiful drape. It's beautiful when crocheted (I made a granny blanket with it), however, when knitted, the stitches are a bit uneven. I never used it for a sweater, but I'm planning to do so very soon. Plassard Alpaga come in lots of very beautiful shades, you can see the color palette here.

The Finisher
This weekend, I suddenly felt the urge to finish all my current projects on my needles. Maybe because I'm fed up with all these dark colours? Or because I received new yarn as a gift? Maybe because I need to stock up more warm sweaters? Probably because I learned, a few days ago, that my first full-time job will take me far away from Paris, in the cold East of France?
So, since saturday, I knit, knit, knit, finish, finish, finish:
A scarf is currently on the blocking board, waiting for sequins.
A sweater needs a few more rows, some buttons and a good soak.
And my August pair of socks should be finished by tomorrow.
Yay!
I realized that I knit faster when I'm watching or listening to something (anything!). I also feel guilty if I have more than 3 projects at the same time. I usually have on my needles:
- one pair of socks
- one shawl or a scarf
- one sweater or a blanket or a crochet project
How about you, dear Readers? How do you usually knit faster? In front of the tv? Listening to the radio? Reading?
What's your WIP limit number? Are you the polygamus or monogamus type knitter? Tell me everything!
I wish you a lovely knitting week!

A Nice Afternoon
The other day, by a lovely and sunny afternoon, I met three knitters. Elise, Monelle & Caroline. Sitting on a bench at Jardin du Palais Royal, we had a lovely time chatting, knitting, and chatting about knitting. The girls are accomplished knitters and I think they are as addicted on knitting as me!
A few days ago, on Elise's blog, I entered in a random draw, and I was lucky enough to be the winner. Elise offered me two beautiful cones of merinos/cashmere yarn and two skeins of Malabrigo Silky Merino in a gorgeous shade of silvery grey. I already have an idea for the blue yarn and I'll begin this project as soon as possible.
