How to make cheap socks? By using leftovers of course!
Pattern: Conwy by Nancy Bush from "Knitting on the Road"
Pattern: Conwy by Nancy Bush from "Knitting on the Road"
Yarn: Sweet Georgia, Tough Love Sock (Slate) 75grams
Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Multi (Amy's Vintage Office K) 35grams
Needles: Addi Turbo Circular, 2.5mm, 80cm.
Mods: CO 72, no shaping. Reduced the chart to only 4 rows (row 10 to 13). Replaced the single K stitch by a Ktbl for a more crispy stitch definition. Heel & toe in a contrasting color to use up yarn. Instep: worked over 37st. Ktbl stitch on both side. Gusset: Decreased until 35st: sole. Toe: first decreased 2 sts from the instep, then worked toe decreases as usual, every other row on both instep and sole.
About the Pattern: I wish I had calculated better because I hadn't enough grey yarn to finish the foot and had to end the foot portion with the contrasting color. This is probably a sign that I need to learn how to knit sock by the toe-up! Oh well, at least, I used all the yarn. Eradiknit! Otherwise, I pretty much liked the pattern, as well as the whole book, and I'm planning to knit more of Nancy Bush's sock patterns.
About the Yarns: Those yarns are leftovers from previous projects. I enjoyed knitting them a lot, except weaving all those ends! My only regret is that the lorna's lace pooled on both heel and toe, but it's really not a big deal!

At least, the main color matches the weather! Rain, wind and rain again.... :(
